Dickinson College Sustainability Education

Sustainability education is made necessary by the growing human footprint that is transforming the Earth and eroding the capacity of environmental, social, and economic systems to sustain enriching, healthy lives, attain social justice and freedoms, and protect biodiversity and natural wealth. The study of sustainability stems from hope and a pragmatic assessment that solutions for a sustainable future are feasible – feasible for this and coming generations if prepared with the knowledge, skills, global awareness, and sense of citizenship that are necessary to the challenge.
